At Click we spend some time on the interwebs. In between adorable baby pigs dressed as tigers and trolling gamer forums, we make a note of the REALLY good stuff. Some are industry relevant, some are just good for a chuckle. Here are the best/most relevant from this week.
First up, we don’t know if you need to, but here’s how to stage a Pintervention
Getting serious for a second, the Hollywood Reporter has info that validates our social media existence
Finally, we tend to shy away from any sort of call to actions here, but a lot has been said about Pixar’s Brave which opens this weekend.
Things like it’s the “first real creative stumble since 1998’s A Bug’s Life” or “parents will be disappointed if they’re hoping for another Pixar groundbreaker .” We think the Mary Sue hits the nail on the head about why some critics aren’t connecting with this Pixar film. “Brave is not just a film with gendered characters, but a plot about the gender of its characters.”
It is a GREAT film, with complete, complex females at the center. If you are in any way concerned with gender inequality on screen, share your voice by spending your cash this weekend. Activism aside, you’ll be rewarded with a film that is fresh, funny, and wondrous to watch.
Have a great Friday!
