A Fireside Chat with Sarah Henness

We’d now like to take a moment with one of Click Communications’ excellent staffers, Sarah Henness, to learn a little more about where she came from and how she gets by in the world of Click.  The kids are all tucked into bed and we have some time to chat in front of the roaring fire. Let us begin.

What is your favorite thing about working at Click? I really enjoy the people that I work with. Their enthusiasm is intoxicating and makes my job that much more enjoyable. I also enjoy the ability to adjust my work schedule according to the needs of my kids.

What skill has been most valuable to you while working here at Click? I pride myself on being a detail-oriented person. Having that kind of focus makes it easier for me to make sure that we are presenting our best face and producing something that we can be proud of.

What would you consider to be your area of specialty? Continuity. My job is to make sure that we are presenting a consistent product. I work with a fabulous group of people who all have a unique approach to what they do. My job is to make it gel and come together in a cohesive way.

What is the best part of your workday? Uploading the finished product. It is a very fulfilling feeling to finish something and get it off your to-do list. Receiving appreciative emails from my coworkers regarding said completion is pretty nice too.

Which work event has been the most fun for you to be involved in? The annual Click Anniversary party is a lot of fun. I live 2 hours away from the rest of the gang (aside from Scott who is considerably further away) and it is always nice to see everyone.

What is the best advice you have ever received? Trust your judgment and, when in doubt, stick with the tools you’ve been given.

What are some of your favorite movies? Oh, goodness… so many to chose from: Pride & Prejudice (A&E edition); The Holiday; The Ghost and the Darkness; The Return of the King Extended Edition; Amelie; Anything Robin Hood; The Day After Tomorrow (guilty pleasure); The Shawshank Redemption; Seven Brides for Seven Brothers; Up; Persuasion. I could go on for days, but we’ll go with those for now. Next week they could be different.

If I looked in your DVR/BD player, what would I find? Most of it is what comes on when we are trying to get the kids to bed… Bones, CSIs; Project Runway; The Glades. Also there are some things that my 3 year old is addicted to… Okay, mostly it is episodes of Phineas and Ferb including last year’s Christmas special.

What book are you currently reading and what else might I find on your shelves? I am currently rereading the Harry Potter Series before the next movie comes out… I am on Book six right now (Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince). Other than that, I have The Complete Jane Austen Collection; The Twilight Series; Kathy Reichs novels; some Tom Clancy and Vince Flynn. I don’t get a lot of time to read with two ankle biters running around.

Where in the world is your favorite place to travel or spend a dream vacation? Favorite place I have ever been was New Zealand. It is an absolutely breathtaking place. The Lord of the Rings trilogy did a pretty good job of capturing the beauty, but being there is even better. It just feels so clean and fresh. It is the most amazing and beautiful and gorgeous and awesome place I have ever been… and I have been to a lot of places. As for a dream vacation, it is a tie between Egypt and Antarctica. I want to go to both of them really bad… really, really bad.

Obligatory super power question: What would it be and why? The ability to be in 2 places at once. I have 2 kids, need I say more?
